Product Reviews: Aussie, Clinique

Now, I have two product reviews for you guys! One is a cheaper one, that works wonders, and the other is moderately priced and it does the same.

The two products I'm talking about are: AUSSIE MOIST DEEP CONDITIONER 3-MINUTE MIRACLE and CLINIQUE ACNE SOLUTIONS MOISTURIZERS.

Aussie Moist Deeeeep Conditioner 3-Minute Miracle is TRULY a miracle worker. I first heard about it from allthatglitters21 on YouTube and then I went out to go try it and my VERY long, frizzy, thick, curly, damaged hair, came into line and I let it down today. it wasnt braided or in a ponytail or up in a bun, it was DOWN. That's how good it is. Trust me, this works. You put it on AFTER you wash off your conditioner on still wet hair, then after leaving it in, wash it off. It's around 3 dollars at Target or Walgreens, so its very cheap, so I go ahead and use more than necessary...you know, to make it extra-soft.

Clinique Acne Solutions Moisturizers makes zits slowly disappear. Lately, I've been breaking out, and using a little bit of this on your problem areas makes your zits go away in a week. Seriously, just give it one week and it'll be mostly gone, even the ghastliest pimple! It's around $30-ish at Sephora, I HIGHLY reccomend it. I love all Clinique skincare products, I actually ran out of my first bottle of the newest Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector, so I should go get another. That corrector is $49.50, way too expensive, so I might go get the moisturizer instead. But I digress, go buy these two. Theyre worth it.

MORE PERSONAL: Survey

So in an attempt to make this blog more personal, I'm going to take inspiration from Msz Jackie Chu and do a survey so you can know what im like.

A: Age: 17 :] Im a senior in high school, but its all good :] i go all out for my birthday i make it a HUGEE deal. born Dec 13
B: Bed Size: Twin i dont need much space to sleep. I love sleeping on the couch
C: Chore You Hate: OMG I hate putting my clothes away because Id much rather fold them. Plus, I only get to use half my closet because my brother shares half (my mom took up my brothers closet, she has a LOT of stuff). So then I have to go hanger hunting (we break all our hangers) and then I have to put them on the hanger and they always slip off, its soo annoying. Id much rather fold em but i cant.
D: Dog Names: I dont have a dog, I might get a rabbit in a couple months like I said. I want to name it Schnatzie.
E: Essential Start-Your-Day Item: Wash my face, brush my teeth, eat, Facebook. Aargh, I'm such a Facebook addict!
F: Favorite Color: I love red, because its so fun and versatile. I also like black, white, and turquoise (cuz its my birthstone)
G: Gold or Silver: I'm Indian, I own so much gold and diamonds and stuff that I prefer simple silver for everyday.
H: Height: I'm 5'6" right now but genetically, I have a late growth spurt.
I: Instruments: the flute and the guitar (i suck, though, i never liked playing the guitar) and the recorder i guess?
J: Job Title: I'm a HS Senior, So Im a student and i proud :] (horrible english i know, im not trying to write nicely)
k: Kids: I'm 17! I consider a lot of my younger friends either sisters or kids or such.
L: Live: WEST COAST, LA BABY :] For all you stalkers, I'm going to make it even more simpler. I'm a Valley Girl, I dont care if you know where I live, because so many people live in the Valley.
M: Moms Name: Susan, shes so different from me! Shes so neat and organized and she was such a perfect child that she expects me to be the same. No boyfriends, no going to the mall with my friends, nothing. Its really sad, but its okay, because she tries really hard to be my friend and connect and I love her so much for that :]
N: Nicknames: Manni or Manny. REALLY long story. Or Marissa, people call me Marissa.. or Harold, that too.
O: Overnight Hospital Stay Other Than Birth: Ive had 3 eye surgeries so I would say twice I think, not sure.
P: Pet Peeves: girls who think theyre better than the rest, sluts, mean girls :), people who hate you because your weird, close minded people, just annoying people who arent open to me. i also CANNOT STAND people who fish for compliments or look for attention.
Q: Quote You Love: "Laughing is the best calorie burner" -Marilyn Monroe
"If everyone could be who they wanted to be, we'd all be rock stars or astronauts. I mean, who would make the sandwiches?"
R: Right/Left Handed?: Right
S: Siblings: Little brother. Hes 10 and super annoying.
T: Time You Wake Up: 6 on weekdays, 7 on weekends but i HATE waking up and i HATE going to bed. i love sleeping though, wish i could get more of it.
U: Underwear: i wear kids underwear like from Ivy Moon. Im a size 12 in kids
V: Vegetable You Dislike: Brussel Sprouts. My mom tries to stuff brussel sprouts and parmesan down my throat. I hate that. Also, avacado.
W: Workout Style: I treadmill half-hour to hour every day, exceptions on Friday when we run at school and I get tired and lazy
X: X-Rays You've Had: Teeth, I was at the orthodontists because my mom wanted to check if I needed braces. My teeth are perfect. They dont need braces.
Y: Yesterdays Best and Worst Moments: I went to the mall with my mom and we spent too long in Forever 21 so the mall was like closing down and half the lights were off...super spooky.
Z: Zen?: I used to be super into chi and feng shui, I changed a lot.

Weight Loss - JJEM and Controversy

First of all, I know I aint fat, but I do want to shed some pounds...but then again, who doesnt?
Now, I'm 5'6" and im 111 pounds and I know its not THAT bad, but when you're surrounded by really skinny asian people, it starts to affect you're self-confidence.
So me and 3 other friends came up with JJEM which stands for our names. My nickname is Manny even though my name is Charlotte...long story, just just...dont ask. So it stands for Julie Jamie Eunice Manny and its our diet pact. Now SOOO many people freaked out about this! They started saying "oh you guys are skinny! thats not healthy!" Shoutout to Lady Masamune who said "diet pact, pregnancy pact, suicide cult." Thats so not true!
So this is JJEM, we are supposed to eat breakfast, eat a full lunch, and skip dinner or something (according to my teacher, instead of skipping dinner, just eat yogurt and a banana for lunch) and then exercise for a half hour every day. Now, I dont know about the other JJEM members but I get SOOO hungry after treadmill time that I have to eat so what I do is I eat so early its not considered dinner. I know its cheating! But I have to eat, everyone does! We know that, we arent going to starve ourselves! Trust me.
So (shoutout to Emily W. and Lady Masamune) they told our English teacher who is sooo mad at me and Eunice. Thanks a lot, guys.

So, almost ALL girls are self conscious about their bodies. I know most reading this post are! We are exercising, which is good even if you dont lose want to lose weight. I lost 4 pounds in the last week by a couple times exercising, because when you're young, it really really affects your metabolism so its super easy to lose the first 10 pounds.

DIET TIPS:
1. Dont eat after 7:30 because you're food wont digest. Fruit is okay.
2. Dont forget to exercise, it helps more than you think and exercise helps you keep away from fatty foods.
3. Eating disorders are NOT NOT NOT cool, seriously, nobody likes a skeleton...and its not healthy either! When you grow up, you'll regret it. Because then you'll be sterile and half-dead and in a rest home because everyone who used to love you will get so fed up, you'll be abandoned.
4. Dont forget breakfast! If you arent a breakfast person, eat a couple granola bars and some milk or a smoothie/milkshake. If you are, eat cereal (im a total cereal person) or oatmeal or pancakes or waffles. Enjoy breakfast, it boosts your metabolism. JJEM members CANNOT skip breakfast or they are kicked out.
5. Dont go on diets. You need a little fatty food, a little chocolate once in a while. I know some girls who live on salads. As my English teacher pointed out, you need protein and potassiam and vitamins to live! And its better to get them naturally than from pills and tablets. Plus, diets never work, you always go back to your original weight. Ive been dieting for 2 years, its never produced results. Exercise works, but only if you do it every day. NO EXCEPTIONS.
6. Try not to watch fasion shows or modeling shows if you are already self conscious. It makes you frustrated with who you are. I know I cant talk, because my self-esteem sucks but those shows lower them even more.
7. Dont focus on just your weight...other things matter to...like personality and makeup and clothes .... - My English teacher gave me a wonderful example. "GOD FORBID an accident happens and your legs are paralyzed or smething, is your life oveR? No, because jut because you arent physically perfect, you still have your mind and your heart.
8. WATER AND SLEEP - Okay, I really have to follow my own advice and sleep cuz its almost midnight and im writing this, but sleep is so basic and so good for youu like im not even joking! Sleepng helps you with skin (you dont break out as much), weight, everything, attention span too! Water, you also have to drink a lot becase if you dont drink enough, the little you do drink will be retained, you'll be bloated. Again, I gots to follow my own advice. Water is good for a LOT of things (all health-related). Like water not only helps you lose weight, but for those with dry skin, water helps keep your skin hydrated. its also good for people with oily skin, just drink water, guys, it helps A LOT.

So those are my diet tips to all those who are against trying to tone and lose weight, we arent unhealthy. Thank you to Ms. Massoudi for all the wonderful advice and GO JJEM!

Earrings...Where Have They All Gone?

So I used to be a huge earring person, I used to go to Hallmark and buy earrings or a bracelet (Hallmark has really cute jewelry), but I stopped. I have no idea why, either! I think I'm going to start buying more earrings though, because before, whenever I was in a bad mood or in a crappy mood, I'd just go out with my mommy and we'd find a pair of super cute earrings and shed buy me them! I'm really more enthusiastic now, I think the first place I'm going to go is Forever 21, because their jewelry is really cheap.
OH! I WAS GOING TO TELL YOU~! I do not shop at Forever 21, because I always go shopping with my mom, its like... "our thing". So she gets really annoyed when we go there, because you really have to look to find something nice. She also has a really low opinion of these stores that have cheaper stuff...but everyone always seems to love XXI and have no complaints, so I want to go there this weekend and try it out...with no prejudice. :]

The BEST Product IN THE WORLD + More Im Looking Forward To

I'm sorry there hasnt been a post in a while, but heres one now! It's about Clinique.
About two weeks ago, I bought the Clinique Clinical Dark Spot Corrector and it works so magically, im not even joking! The corrector is super expensive though, its an ounce for $50, but its a miracle worker. As a heriditery condition from overexposure to the sun (thats what i get for living in LA), I have dark spots around my mouth, so what I do is every morning and every night I put one small pump of the corrector on my forehead and around my mouth(more on mouth than forehead). This is honestly so helpful that I'm in LOVE with it. If anybody knows its price during Black Friday, leave a comment, because $50 is so so expensive.

Now, another thing I love is Clinique's Moisture Surge gel-creme moisturizer. I have a baby sample for an ounce because the Clinique counter lady was super nice when we bought our corrector (we bought it at Nordstroms <3). The big size is 1.7 for $34, maybe I'll just find out where to get free samples...or bribe the counter lady.
But more than that, what I REALLY want is the Face Spray!! This is perfect for right after you run at school and you're sweaty because it removes the dirt while hydrating and it wont screw up your makeup. This is 4.2 oz for $20, much more reasonable.
Also, I want a sample size (not the actual thing) of After-Sun Rescue Balm because I live in Cali and its a must for the days when you STUPIDLY forget sunblock.

I burn super easily, by the way, which is strange, because I'm dark skinned and Indian, but I actaully burn..like it hurts, burn.
(im indian, hansen is my last name because im adopted. no more questions? ok then...)

So thats it, I still didnt get my purple eyeliner because I sort of gave up on makeup... all I wear is mineral foundation...except for parties where I go nuts with tons of eyeliner and mascara and blush...the works.
I shall do more videos, maybe start a youtube channel. would you guys be interested?

No Oscar Dresses Just Yet, But Winners! Also Fragrances!!

Ok, so I've been scouring the web for photos that i can copy-paste onto here, but to no avail. So for now, I will just tell you the winners!

So for best actress, SANDRA BULLOCK won for her first time! And I know a lot of people didnt think she deserved it, but after all these years, yes, yes she did and Im so happy for her!

Best actor was Jeff Bridges, I personally loved George Clooney <3>hate sandalwood fig, but that really cheers me up, so I cover it up with perfume! Now, I have to tell you, I keep my perfumes stashed away because my brother sprays it everywhere or dumps it on the rug. So most of the times I forget and then my friends smell the sandalwood and they hold their noses all day long.

(as a side note, I LOVE the sandalwood, because I'm Indian and we use sandalwood all the time back in the native country)

So when I do use perfume, I always get good compliments and I use Abercrombie Kids Spirit Perfume! Haha, so I have this thing where I dont like using more than one perfume at once. It confuses me and its so much faster when I only have one. So mine is Spirit by Abercrombie and its almost over so Im going to get Perfume 15 by Abercrombie Kids. I know a lot of people dont like the moose but its a good store! Just be open!! I hate spending more than $30 on an oz of perfume though.

AND i have this...tradition, sort of, that just started last year where for my moms birthday, I use my dads money to get her perfume! And last year I got her Givenchy's Very Irresistable for like 76 or 80-ish. She didnt really like it, she wanted Burberry, but then she loves me so she didnt return it. I love my mommy! Haha, and this year (shh dont tell her) but I'm going to get her Guerlain's Shalimar, thats like about $76 for an ounce of Eau de Parfum but its SHALIMAR and it's gorgeous! Lol, but if my daddy (who bankrolls this all) thinks it doesnt smell good, then I shall get her Burberry which she LOVES.

I love Burberry too! I got a Burberry perfume teddy bear for christmas. I named him Mr. Bear Watson, 'cause he looks British.

So thats all for now, I'll see you later. Ooh, but I have a picture of Mr. Beary Bear Watson but maybe I'll post it later...

YSL lipstick as well as a Stila wish and Oscar coverage!

This is the YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in Opera Rose, look how gorgeous it is! And not just the packaging, but the color and the texture. It's $34 and a total treat! Great as an Oscar party gift to yourself, I absolutely love it. I daresay it'd look good on all skin tones. So let me know what you think!

Oh, I almost forgot but I got a comment asking which posts do I (Charlotte) write and which ones does Felicity write? Well, Felicity didnt write any posts so far... but I bet she will soon! I think I told you guys she was in college in Maryland, so shes probably busy :]

And before I get to my Stila wish, I wanted to talk about one more thing. I'm getting a bunny! We're about to move into a bigger house, and escrow should be opening soon (the bank people are REALLY unbearably slow) and as soon as we move in, we're getting a dwarf hotot bunny! It's really tiny, weighs around two and a half pounds. I found one in Canada that was born Jan. 5 for $30, but I'm not particular on that one. I just want a dwarf hotot!
My Stila wish a Stila Kajal eyeliner in Onyx, but they ran out! I'd really like to tightline without tugging or tearing up.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, HANSEN AND GRETYL WILL BE DOING OSCAR COVERAGE INCLUDING THE BEST DRESSES AND WHO WON WHAT.

These are the two choices now
Anchor: http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/item.aspx?sku=24988104&cid=563629&search_params=s+5-p+1-c+563629-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+1-t&mcat=148204 $175

I like both equally and I think the anchor is gorgeous and fun and nautical and the heart is perfect for all occasions and it's simple and means a lot.

Mascara preference + Top 3 Beauty Things + Michelle Phan?

Mascara Preference (a request from a friend [shoutout to BabyRach] who's starting out makeup) ? Well, for one, I dont wear mascara everyday, its for parties..this is because my face is a baby face and mascara looks too much when its not a formal occasion. But when I do wear mascara, I either wear drugstore (Covergirl LashBlast...gimme some love) or Lancome's High Defincils in black.

Here's a tag thats been going around. Top 3 Beauty Products you use everyday and canNOT live without.
Well, everyday I either put on BareEscentuals Matte powder with their Flawless Face brush\So powder is one.
Number two is Clinique skin care stuff whether it be the lotion or the clinical dark spot corrector or the eye cream, I love Clinique skin care stuff so so much.
Number three is eyeliner, though there are days I can get lazy and skip out. I really really want purple eyeliner, like a plum shade! I have indigo and black, but I do not have purple and I really want it! Mac has a pencil that comes in a shade called Bordeauxville and I really want it. I just take the eyeliner and go on the outer half of my waterline. When I go on all the way, it needs mascara, otherwise it looks like I have no lashes.

Another thing I wanted to talk to you about is Michelle Phan. She is the new Lancome Video Makeup Artist and theres a lot of controversy. I for one think its a great thing because she is totally talented and Lancome is awesome. If I were to be affiliated with any one makeup brand, it would either be Lancome, Mac, or Clinique, but I dont think I will be mainly because I dont do elaborate makeup tutorials or any thing, I just started a blog! Thats a start!!

With Love, Charlotte Hansen

Eye Cream

So, I want to talk to you about eye cream and in order to do that, im going to sound like a advertising man trying to sell you bleach.

DO YOU HAVE DARK CIRCLES UNDER YOUR EYES? ARE PUFFINESS AND CIRCLES MAKING YOUR PRETTY FACE UGLY?! THEN USE EYE CREAM!

Hahaha, now honestly, so many people have dark circles under their eyes and I find eye cream to work (not to be used in substitute of sleep). I use Clinique All About Eyes and I bought the 0.5 oz one for $30 and then they came up with a new improved one and now im all mad!! So the new improved one has botanicals and it works faster and its called All About Eyes Rich.
If you want the best of the best and you're willing to pay the big bucks, theres always LaMer Eye Cream or Eye Concentrate ($165 for 0.5 oz).
And I've got to tell you....after using eye cream, I've seen a huge difference. I will post before and after shots later (when we get more viewers to this site). Honestly, this eye cream is ah-mazing and even if you chose a less expensive option than Clinique, it'll still make some sort of difference. So try it out and you tell me... are puffiness and circles still make your pretty face ugly?

Welcome + A Little Taste of Us

Welcome, I am Charlotte Hansen. My sister, Felicity, and I are managing this blog: sugarglitter.blogspot.com.
So, what happens is that I'm the makeup guru and she's about fashion. So we'll make posts every couple of days about whats new in the world of Hansen and Gretel (its a reference to the fairytale).
So check back whenever you can and we'll be waiting with more from the Beauty Fairytale.

p.s. i know at the side it says we live in Hollywood, CA, but thats only me. Felicity lives in Maryland.

So now for the little taste of us part... I'm going to talk a little about makeup? Now everyday, I use mineral foundation, eyeliner, and lipstick as well as the thing I like to consider my energy source... NAIL POLISH! Now I dont really care about the brands, but my favorites are Revlon ($4 at Target) or Sinful Colors ($2 at Rite Aid or Walgreens). OPI is obviously the best, but those are $8 (CVS) and im the kind of person who would rather have 50 cheaper nailpolishes than 12 expensive-r ones...the quality isnt much different either. I'll put up a picture later and end this little taste with a couple of questions for you guys to answer. What makeup do you wear everyday? How much to a party? Whats your nailpolish opinion?
